Meet Dr. "A"

   Dr Antosiewicz, otherwise known as Dr. A reaching for herbal medicine at Squibnocket Animal Center CT  

       A 1981 graduate of veterinary medicine in Warsaw, Poland, Peter Antosiewicz, DVM, CVA, CVH, CVT is a small animal practitioner.  As director of Squibnocket Animal Center in Brookfield CT and Valley Veterinary Hospital in New Milford CT.  Both animal hospital serve the greater Danbury area, including Ridgefield, Redding, Newtown, and Bethel.  Dr. "A" brings over 30 years of veterinary medical expertise, with post doctoral certifications for veterinary acupuncture, food therapy, herbal medicine, and canine rehabilitation.

CVA: Certified Veterinary Acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS)

CVH: Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbologist by Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM)

CVT: Certified Tui-na Practitioner by Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM)

CVF: Certified Veterinary Food Therapist by Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM)

As part of his master's program offered through the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veteirnary Medicine, DrA traveled to Beijing, China.  Up to this time he completed his continuing education programs offered by the Institute in: Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Gastrointestinal, Endocrine, Kidney, Urinary, Reproductive, Dermatology, Oncology &  Immune Medicated Disease, Basic and Advanced Chinese Herbal Medicine, Tui-Na, Food Therapy, and Advanced Tongue and Pulse Diagnosis.     

    

   Dr. A has extensively attended continuing education courses throughout the years offered by the American Animal Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association. Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veteirnary Medicine, The American Animal Hospital Association, Canine Postural Rehabilitation, and the Canine Rehabilitation Institute.  Through Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, he completed his continuing education courses in basic and advanced western herbs, chiropractic manipulation, and orthopedic surgery.  For diagnostic purposes, Dr. A completed his ultrasound education programs in basic and advanced abdominal ultrasound, and in basic and advanced echocardiography.

Dr. A is an active member of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, American Animal Hospital Association, International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, and Chi Institute of Tradititional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. A is a Lab Instructor, Speaker and Examiner at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Reddick, Florida.  Dr. Peter  also provides internship programs at his animal hospitals for veterinarians completing their post-doctoral courses.  Dr. A's lecture topics at Chi Institiute include;  Rehabilitation with Acupuncture for Geriatric Patients, Pain Management, How to Understand Chinese Herbal Medicine, and How to Start an Herbal Practice.

He is working with staff at Chi Institute to teach small animal acupuncture classes to licensed veterinarians.  Students are learning 120 trans-positional canine acupuncture points and 50 classical canine acupuncture points.  Through the wet labs students are learning how to use acupunture to diagnose and treat many disorders, behavioral problems, and diseases.  They are also learning veterinary acupuncture techniques that include dry needle, aqua-acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, hemo-acupuncture, pneumo-acupuncture, and moxibustion.

Dr. A has dedicated his studies to combining tradititional and integrative medicine as well as canine rehabilitaiton to promote health and well being to all his patients.
